The Rangers are in firsr place in the Metropolitan Division, sitting at an incredible 11-2-1, and that's without the top line being as explosive on 5v5 as we are use to seeing.

Possibly one of the reasons, is the slow start of Mika Zibanejad this season.

Mika Zibanejad currently has 2 goals, and 8 assists total in 14 games played. He is currently projected for 59 points for the season if he plays all 82 games.

This is a downward trend compared to 4 of the previous 5 seasons where he registered at least 74 points.

The one season he didn't, was the 2020-2021 season when there was only 56 games, and he registered 50 points.

So what could explain the slow start? Maybe adapting to the new system of head coach Peter Laviolette.

Peter Laviolette thinks it'll only be a matter of time until Mika Zibanejad gets it going.

"I think it's a matter of time. I really do The fact that he's having the looks & he knows how to shoot a puck & he knows how to find it from that spot, I personally think it's just a matter of time."

I agree with this. I personally think Mika Zibanejad has been playing very well. He's still a great passer, he's getting shots,

I think it's just bad luck he hasn't been able to strike one at the net as much. He still has plenty of time to get into the explosive shape we all know he can get to.

It is only a matter of time as the coach said!
