With the New York Rangers clearing veteran Chris Kreider to return to the ice, they have to make adjustments. It involved sending Bo Groulx back to the Hartford Wolfpack.

The Rangers are fully whole, as tonight Chris Kreider returns to the lineup tonight. GM Chris Drury has to make adjustments since they cannot carry too many players due to possible salary cap issues.

One of those involves sending callup Bo Groulx back to the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack.

Groulx was called up as soon as the Rangers sent down Brett Berard, in an attempt to bolster the Rangers' depth at center.

The center wasn't able to slot in during the time of Filip Chytil's absence but earned his call-up through hard work this season.

In 32 AHL games this season, Groulx has 11 goals and 18 assists on the season for a total of 29 points, quite close to a point-per-game pace. At 24-years of age, the former second round draft pack still has some upside and certainly has earned a look with the Rangers. Unfortunately, this could mean that the Rangers could be without Chytil for some time. On the flip side, it could also mean that Chris Kreider is close to a return.

With Arthur Kaliyev being a recent pickup by GM Chris Drury and the New York Rangers, it's likely that the former 2nd-round pick will get a look before the Rangers consider Berard, or Groulx again.

And that doesn't discount what effort Groulx has put in this season, as the 24-year-old has finally gotten his first look with the Blueshirts.

It doesn't mean it has to be his last either if he keeps his production where it is now, as he's scored 29 points ( 11 G, 18 A ) this season.

Groulx has played 32 games in the AHL this season, and 54th overall in the 2018 NHL Draft.

The depth forward has a cap hit of $775K AAV and will be a pending UFA at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen what the Rangers plans are for the forward, but he could end up signing another one-year, two-way deal in July.
