The New York Rangers will play the Colorado Avalanche tonight, as they continue their stretch of games against Western Conference teams. Tonight, a lifelong Rangers veteran, Chris Kreider returns to the lineup.

The New York Rangers will benefit from having 13-year Ranger veteran, Chris Kreider return to the lineup tonight.

The veteran had previously been healing up, as he has been dealing with back spasms, and was placed on injured reserve.

Kreider was placed on IR on Jan. 5, meaning that the veteran winger only missed the minimum number of games, making him eligible to be in the lineup when the Rangers take the ice against the Colorado Avalanche.

The stretch of games he missed prior to being placed on IR, along with a healthy scratch didn't help the Rangers when it came to speculation that he'd be traded.

And with how relentless GM Chris Drury is managing the Rangers lineup, it seemed that it could've been the case.

Now, with the veteran back in the lineup, hopefully healthy he can find a way to find the playmaking side of the game that's been missing all of this season.

Kreider will return to action tonight against the Avalanche slotting in on the Rangers' third line, with Filip Chytil.

Much like his teammates, he'll have to find a way to turn his game around and find a way to stay in the lineup.

His production has waned this season, as some expected as well as his utilization on the ice.

Kreider has recorded 13 goals, two assists and 15 points in 34 games while averaging 17:37 minutes.

Kreider is in year five of a seven-year deal with the Rangers and makes $6.5 Million AAV. If he fails to live up to expectations, will we see him traded at the end of the season?
