New York Rangers division rivals announce another major signing
Rangers division rival, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed Jett Luchanko, their first-round pick in 2024 to a three-year entry level contract.
Luchanko, 17 was selected 13th overall and is currently playing for the Guelph Storm of the OHL. Standing at 5 foot 11 and 187 lbs, the two-way centre played 68 games for the storm and scored twenty goals, with 54 assists for 74 points with 36 penalty minutes.
According to elite prospects, he has excellent speed and gives good pressure to the opposition which allows him to carry the puck through the neutral zone. A player of his Calgary will certainly be beneficial to the Flyers as they have struggled with that such player.
The Flyers also have lacked centre depth for the past several years and as the team has rebuilt, it has now put a focus on the centre position. General manager Danny Briere has had a good week as he was able to announce that the 2023 7th overall pick in Matvei Michkov has joined the Flyers and will be with the organization next season.
