New York Rangers prospect reveals wholesome interaction he shared with Marc-Andre Fleury
Last season, Dylan Garand experienced a moment that he will never forget when he was called up to be the backup goalie for the New York Rangers.
During a recent interview, Garand revealed that he shared an interaction with Marc-Andre Fleury during warmups and stated that was the highlight of his night:
«I think the highlight of that for me was during warm ups, I went up the redline to start skating and warming up and Marc-André Fleury was coming out,» Garand said. «He came up to me and said ''hi'' and then skated away. It was just so cool. You see that guy on TV everyday, so face-to-face in person, that was an awesome experience.»
39-year old, Marc-Andre Fleury is a class act as whether or not he knew who Garand was he made sure to make him feel comfortable and welcomed to the game, a moment the young goaltender will forever remember.
This past season, Garand really proved his worth for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL as he recorded a 5-4 record, 2.59 goals against average and .922 save percentage.
