New York Rangers captain, Jacob Trouba has added an unexpected team to his 15-team no-trade list.

Trouba has been surrounded by trade rumors since free agency opened up on July 1st, as general manager Chris Drury is trying to clear up cap spare.

One trade proposal that gained a lot of attention was that Trouba would be heading back to his home state team, the Detroit Red Wings.

Of course nothing materialized as Trouba still remains a member of the New York Rangers.

However according to Stefen Rosner, a reporter for NHL.com, Trouba has reportedly added the Detroit Red Wings to his no-trade list, after hearing the Rangers wanted to send him there.

"It was crazy to learn that Trouba, a Michigan native, added DET to his no-trade list when he heard that's where #NYR wanted to send him.

All legal, too, as he did it before he submitted it to NYR.

Reports getting out changed everything for NYR.

What an ugly situation." Rosner said.

Despite the rumours of potential spots where Trouba could be traded to, nothing is likely to happen until next July, so Chris Drury will need to turn his attention elsewhere if he wants the Rangers to succeed this upcoming seasoning.
