Last night, the Florida Panthers tied up the Eastern Conference Finals, with a win. They pulled a Game 4 win, 3-2 with a Sam Reinhart goal to end the night in OT.

Head Coach Laviolette was asked about the Rangers performance last night, which of course disappointed fans and the coaching staff alike.

The Rangers would start off strong, with a goal in the first period, until the Panthers played their game and the Rangers would take too many penalties and give up 2 goals.
At 8:45 in the 2nd Period, Sam Bennett would score the first goal, assisted by Gustav Forsling, shortly after Shesterkin's first save on Bennett's shot 4 seconds prior.
The team wasn't clearing the crease right, as the Panthers built up pressure and didn't let go of the chokehold they had the Rangers in.
Then, at 12:16 into the 2nd period, Carter Verhaeghe would again, put his claws into the team, on a power-play-goal solidifying the lead, with an assist for Matthew Tkachuk, giving the Panthers a 2-1 lead.
The Rangers would of course, play too passive as the Panthers clawed their way back into the series.
No excuses, and Laviolette offered no explanations, but it's obvious the defensive play wasn't good enough and it showed.
Even while Alexis Lafreniere would do his best to delay the inevitable, with a 3rd-period goal, putting the team up 2-2, the Rangers couldn't hold a lead.
It's glaringly obvious, what the explanation was.
As a former Stanley Cup-winning coach, what is Peter Laviolette's real answer?
