Recent statement by the Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson they are no longer interested in acquiring Patrick Kane in the offseason, giving the New York Rangers a better chance.

Patrick Kane will be one of the top most sought after free agent if he decides that's what he wants to do, and with the recent statement from the Blackhawks this gives the Rangers a better chance at signing him. Kane would likely have interest in a return as they were the only team he wanted to be traded to last season.
However, the Detroit Red Wings still have the best chance at re-signing him as reported they have a 46% chance, and the Boston Bruins have the second best chance at 11%, but down the line the Rangers had a 6.5% at acquiring Kane.
Patrick Kane had proven he still has what it takes to be able to produce in the NHL even after undergoing a serious hip surgery in the offseason.
With nearly a point-per-game player after signing late with the Detroit Red Wings putting up 47 points in 50 games and almost helped the Red Wings reach the playoffs.
This is exactly what the Rangers need, although he is getting older and slower, he can still provide the secondary scoring the Rangers desperately need heading into next year.
