Rangers defenseman Ben Harpur faces harsh suspension after intentionally trying to injury goaltender

New York Rangers defenseman Ben Harpur learns his fate after being ejected from a recent game.

New York Rangers veteran defenseman Ben Harpur was ejected from Friday nights game while playing in the American Hockey League for charging after the opposing team's goalie with intent to injure.

The Hartford Wolfpack faced off against the Rochester Americans, Ben Harpur was ejected from the game for charging after the opposing goaltender Felix Sandstrom.

"Don't think I've ever seen anything like this beforeBen Harpur was given a 5 min. major and a game misconduct tonight in the AHL for charging into G Felix Sandstrom.

And he certainly did it with the intent to injure the goalie,"

Which resulted in Harpur getting a a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct, and now further disciplinary action has been imposed.

During the moment no one really knew why Harpur would do this, but some reports have surfaced stating that Harpur was getting his pay back after Felix Sandstrom injured him a play last season.

actually harpur definitely was going after him for this which was very clearly unintentional but the resulting injury kept harpur out the rest of last season so he was 100% out for revenge on felix sandstrom which makes it even worse tbh...

However, it was just confirmed by Mollie Walker of the New York Post has just confirmed that Ben Harpir has been suspended for four games for his actions:
