It was a long time coming, Rangers fans hoped that their first overall choice in Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere would become the player who would dominate and control the puck while scoring many goals while giving the team the best chance to win.
It seems that emergence has come with a dramatic turn around in his game as several Rangers fans including Matthew P Mungo expressed during a segment of Puck Talk.
The 22-year-old left winger has had his breakout year this year as he has played 70 games for the Rangers, has scored twenty goals with 25 assists for 45 points with 30 penalty minutes.
He has eclipsed all other years in terms of goals scored overall points and his ice time.
One of the big factors has been putting him on the second line with Rangers superstar Artemi Panarin.
Panarin has made him a better player and he has taken that trust and turned it into a great season.
It remains to be seen on how he will handle the remaining 12 games plus however many playoff games the Rangers will play.
But with the team rounding out well and his game constantly elevating many fans expect him to be a force in the playoffs and continue to emerge as an elite talent kid.
