Rangers Haven't Played In Four Days, Still First In The Division
The Rangers haven't played since Sunday, in the 4-3 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Yet we still stand above the pack, in first place in the Metropolitan Division, with losses mounting on rival teams like the New Jersey Devils, and the Carolina Hurricanes.
It's even more impressive once you consider the amount of injuries that have plagued the Rangers.
Ace defenseman Adam Fox, Center Filip Chytil, and goaltenders Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick have all missed time this month.
Here are some key facts that showcase how well the team has been playing.
The defense and goaltending have been on fire, same with special teams. Both the power-play and the penalty-kill rank second and seventh respectively.
The only other team to rank in the top 10 in both statistics is the Tampa Bay Lightning, ranking fourth and ninth respectively.
The only thing the team needs to improve on is even strength goals, especially from the top line.
I feel this will be a key area to address prior to the trade deadline later in the year. A top right winger will be the key.
The Rangers next play against the New Jersey Devils, Saturday, November 18th, at the Prudential Center, in New Jersey.
