Rangers rookie shocks many with unusual comment after game 2 victory
New York Rangers rookie Matt Rempe has easily become a fan favourite throughout the Rangers fan base and the entire National Hockey League.
Despite Rempe not seeing much ice time during game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, he play a pivotal rule in the Rangers success on Friday night.
The most surprising thing during Game 2 was Rempe even seen ice time during crucial moments of the game, head coach Peter Laviolette trusted playing him late in the third period and even in overtime.
And at the end of the night stole the spotlight with his charisma during a post game interview.
"I heard Lavi call my name with like 2 minutes left and I was like, 'Oh my God, let's go! Jiminy Crickets, let's go!' I was thrown out there and I just tried to buzz around and do my job," admitted Rempe following Game 2.
The 21-year olds comment definitely received the right reaction from fans.
