Earlier this season Peter Laviolette made the decision to switch up the New York Rangers lines as it was clear that they were not working well together.
Considering the Rangers were badly outplayed by the Washington Capitals as they lost 5-3 and even the Ottawa Senators, despite the Rangers winning 2-1. However after that Laviolette altered his line and defensive pairing which seemed to work out for the Rangers.
But now, the Rangers are having difficulties once again as they have been if taking tough losses, such as losing 6-1 to the Buffalo Sabres and 6-3 to the Winnipeg Jets. Leaving Peter Laviolette no choice but to make more changes.
As the New York Rangers hit the ice this morning for their practice, Rangers reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano shared on his X account, that based off the jersey colors Peter Laviolette has returned the line back to how they were at the beginning of the season.
Along with that Peter Laviolette also stated that the Jones-Schneider defensive pair and the Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko line have warranted more minutes going forward, which could mean that they could eventually being the second line.
Hopefully these changes with help the New York Rangers but only time will tell, and luckily we don't have to wait long to see as the Rangers face off against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night at 7PM.
