Last night the New York Rangers faced the rival New Jersey Devils during a preseason match, on September 30th, 2024.

The Devils would defeat the Rangers, with Martin Brodeur's son, Jeremy in net for the team. As the 2-goal deficit was unable to be overcome, with a final score of 3-1.
Adam Erne, Anton Blidh, and Brett Berard would be the only Rangers players to register a point against the Devils prospects.
The team has again reduced the roster by nine players, giving the Rangers training camp roster a total of 36 players.
The Rangers have 36 players remaining in Training Camp. The roster breakdown is listed below:

Forwards (20): Brett Berard, Anton Blidh, Jonny Brodzinski, Sam Carrick, Filip Chytil, Will Cuylle, Adam Edstrom, Bo Groulx, Kaapo Kakko, Ryder Korczak, Chris Kreider, Alexis Lafreniere, Riley Nash, Brennan Othmann, Artemi Panarin, Matt Rempe, Reilly Smith, Vincent Trocheck, Jimmy Vesey, Mika Zibanejad

It seems, more and more than the Rangers will have a finalized roster, before the start of the regular season.
The Rangers will start the regular season in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Arena, against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.
The Rangers' full schedule for the 2024-25 NHL regular season has been announced. New York will open the campaign on Oct. 9 against the Penguins in Pittsburgh, and have its home opener at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 12 against the expansion Utah HC.Jul 2, 2024

October 12th will be the team's official home-opener at Madison Square Garden against the newest NHL squad, the Utah Hockey Club.
The Rangers will need to decide who will fill Jimmy Vesey's open spot while he's out on injury for the next few weeks, and that could end up being Matt Rempe, Sam Carrick, or Adam Erne. They will have until October 9th to make the right move.
