Trouba shows little emotion after being awarded the Mark Messier Award

As the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs continue, the National Hockey League has announced�New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba�as the 2023-24 Mark Messier�Leadership Award winner. �

The award is given annually «to the player who exemplifies great leadership qualities to his team, on and off the ice, during the regular season and who plays a leading role in his community growing the game of hockey.»

While most awards are voted on by other players or even the media, this awards is handed out by Mark Messier himself. The NHL created the this award the same time Messier was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame back in 2007.

After Rangers captain, Jacob Trouba was awarded the Mark Messier award he then spoke with Messier and expressed his gratitude and what it truly meant to be selected as the winner.

The New York Rangers will face the Carolina Hurricanes for game six and look to put an end to this series and advance to the Eastern Conference finals on Thursday, May 16th.
