It's clear that the NHL has no desire to have fighting in the game as it's been slowly dying with every passing year.
However, in the minor leagues and other leagues fighting is still prevalent and one crazy fight happened last night during an ECHL game between the South Carolina Stingrays and the Wichita Thunder.
The fight began at 7:06 in the first period with the Stingrays up 1-0.
And boy was it ever a good one.
Stingrays defenceman Josh Thrower and the Thunder's Kelly Bent did not disappoint the crowd as both men threw wild punches at one another for several seconds.
Both did not let up until both quit at the same time and gave each other a tap acknowledging the tilt.
Thrower fed to the home crowd as he skated around the ice flailing his arms in a Gladiator moment of Are you Entertained!?
Both heavyweights have been known for their fights and both have racked up many penalty minutes over the course of the season.
But even though fighting seems to be waning in the leagues it's still a necessary part of the sport.
