The Bruins flew home to Boston where they will play the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 5 on Tuesday night. The Bruins have felt good about themselves after their most convincing win in game four as they stymied the Maple Leafs for a score of 3-1. Head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to the media after their return and stated how he felt towards his team and their fans.
Through two periods of play of game 4, the Bruins put on a clinic of how to play defensive hockey in the playoffs and limited the Maple Leafs two shots well over 25 to 30 feet out from the net. Toronto could not get close enough to get quality shots on a sustained level which led to frustrations boiling over on the bench with Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander arguing with each other.
Jeremy Swayman was excellent yet again as the Leafs cannot solve the netminder and Brad Marchand has become a wrecking ball against the Maple Leafs as he has scored three goals and five assists for eight points in four games.
One of the biggest storylines of this series has been the Maple Leafs disastrous specialty teams as their power play has gone non-existent and their penalty killing cannot stop the Bruins.
Of course, the Bruins can't be complacent as they had faced this situation last season against the Florida Panthers to which they blew the 3-1 lead and ended up losing the series in seven.
Game five will be held on Tuesday April 30th and game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
