History may be repeating itself for Rangers and Knicks this year
The Rangers finished off their season with a win against the Ottawa Senators 4-0 which clinched the presidents trophy and pushed their new record to 55 wins on the season.
The New York Knicks also won their 50th game yesterday which clinched the second seed in the Eastern Conference of the NBA.
It seems that history is repeating itself as the last time this happened exactly was in 1994.
Both teams have been playing exceptionally well and have achieved their rebuilding dreams as both teams have come out of the basement and are now on top of their respective leagues.
The Rangers did have some blunders along the way as this season saw a downturn between December and January.
The team rallied together after the All-Star break and put together a great stretch run which solidified their President's Trophy.
With both teams ready for the playoffs, the Rangers are waiting for their first-round opponent as the Eastern Conference playoff race continues to fascinate many as teams jostle for the last two spots.
Only time will tell if Rangers and Knicks fans will get to celebrate a Stanley Cup and the NBA title this year as both teams have positioned themselves for a great run in this years playoffs.
