It's Looking Like Brad Marchand Is Getting Away With Shoving Ref
Brad Marchand appears to have avoided any discipline for shoving linesman Ryan Daisy out of the way as he headed off for a line change in the Bruins Game 6 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Here is the shove:
Marchand surprisingly didn't receive a game misconduct penalty from this. The NHL rulebook is very specific when it comes to physical abuse of officials.
Any player who deliberately applies physical force in any manner against an official shall receive a
game misconduct penalty. In addition, the following (40.2, 40.3, 40.4) disciplinary penalties shall apply.
It looks like the Marchand and the Bruins may have lucked out, especially when on the verge of making unwanted history: being the first team in sports history to blow consecutive 3-1 series leads. Game 7 is tonight.
