It's become clear that the priority one need for the New York Rangers going into this year's trade deadline is a third line centre.

With the loss of Filip Chytil and Nick Bonino no longer with the team, this leaves the Rangers with a large gap in the centre of their lines.

While much was made with rumors flying that the Rangers were prepared to make a deal for Sean Monahan formerly of the Montreal Canadiens now with the Winnipeg Jets, it seems that one name from NHL insider Frank Seravalli of thedailyfaceoff.com thinks Adam Henrique would be the fit for that role.

He also goes on to explain that the cost of acquiring Henrique will be a late first round pick for this year.

General manager Chris Drury has been very reluctant on packaging his first round pick this year to acquire the help needed.

There are several issues he needs to contend with including cap space, the long-term effects of Chytil's injury and whether to take on term for another player which could crowd up the middle.

The 34-year-old centre is currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks who are near the bottom of the standings.

Having played 49 games, scoring 15 goals with 18 assists for 33 points and is a + 1 he would certainly fit the bill to augment the offensive needs along with being more of a shut down role.

His veteran presence and scoring touch would be beneficial to the Rangers.

It'll all come down to whether Drury wants to make the splash.
