The supposed trade with K'Andre Miller and Kaapo Kaako send to the Senators in exchange for Tkachuk and a draft pick. Baugh, who analyzed the trade proposal gave his immediate thumbs down and made several points to why this trade would never happen.
However, there has been many rumors flying around the NHL over the past several months about a possible move of Tkachuk as new ownership has taken hold in the Ottawa senators. New owner Michael Andlauer made quick work of his front office and hired former NHL and Oilers assistant general manager Steve Staios to take over the reins of the team.
In the end, it's quite unlikely that the senators will part ways with their priced star as they have locked him in long term contract and would like to continue to build around him. But this is the NHL, and anybody can be traded for the right price.
