Earlier today recent reports have surfaced suggesting that Alexis Lafreniere will be signing a massive contract extension with the New York Rangers, and now it's has now officially been confirmed by multiple sources.

Rangers insider was first to report that the former 1st-rounder, Alexis Lafreniere and the Rangers were closing in on a deal, then PuckPedia has officially confirmed that the extension carriers a $7.45 million AAV, and only with that Lafreniere will have an eight-team no-trade list in years 3 through 7 of the deal.

Lafreniere was entering his final year of his two-year deal with the New York Rangers that carried a $2.325 million AAV. He has been impressive to start this year with four goals, and seven points in seven games while playing top-line minutes.
Just last season the 23-year old managed to put up a career high with tally 28 goals, and 29 assists for a total of 57 points in 82 games played with the New York Rangers.
