Rangers fans who hate Sidney Crosby may have to swallow their pride, as Crosby has set an example for Igor Shesterkin to follow.

Sid-the-Adult just did the unthinkable, on one of the worst teams in the NHL at the moment.
It ensures the Penguins he will be with the team in the latter part of his career, as he took a team-friendly, $8.7 Million AAV deal.
Crosby is a multiple Stanley Cup winner, a future HOFer who belongs in the same sentence as Bobby Orr, Rocket Richard, and Mark Messer.
Crosby signed the deal, to ensure the team has the assets available to become better over time.
He wants to remain a winner in Pittsburgh and gave Kyle Dubas the flexibility needed to build a winner.
Would Igor Shesterkin be willing to swallow his pride, in order to keep GM Chris Drury flush with enough cash to acquire offensive and defensive talent to place in front of him?
If he wants a winning crew, he'll be ready to settle for a team-friendly deal, like Marty Brodeur, who was reasonable with his contracts.
It's how Lou Lamiorello built winners in New Jersey, by retaining Scott Neidermeyer, and defenseman Scott Stevens.
Igor Shesterkin has yet to win the top prize in the NHL, but being a little more humble might go a long way for the Rangers netminder.
