The New York Rangers are suffering through one of their worst seasons, with a 16-19-1 record, and 8th in the Metropolitan Division. According to NHL Insider David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period, he could waive his no-trade clause to facilitate a trade.

According to a source close to the New York Rangers, center Mika Zibanejad would be open to waiving his no-move clause to help the team make a trade happen sooner.

Of course, while he does waive his control over his next move, GM Chris Drury will have to consider the next steps with a team that fits Zibanejad's goals.

"Citing a source close to the Rangers, Zibanejad would be open to waiving his NMC for the right environment," Pagnotta wrote. "It is unclear, however, if the Rangers and Zibanejad have discussed which teams he would accept a move to, but that conversation could come if Drury finds the right fit."

NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman would confirm that Larry Brook's report on the Rangers locker room is currently spiraling into conflict and chaos.

«This is a team that has quit-on the coach, the organization, and themselves,» Brooks wrote in his column.

The Rangers themselves are 2-8-0 in their last ten and need to improve drastically if they wish to keep their playoff hopes alive.

GM Chris Drury made major moves to reverse the team's fortunes, by sending Kaapo Kakko and former Captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks.

Yet nothing has improved the team.

Mika Zibanejad's production has slowed, and in 36 games posted 21 points( 6 G, 15 A) for 49 points pace this season.

The lowest production he's seen in his career since his 2014-2015 season with the Ottawa Senators.

Zibanejad is signed to an eight-year, $68 million contract and holds a full no-move clause that gives him control over any potential trade. His willingness to consider a move reflects the deepening issues within the Rangers' organization.

«We are far from finished with major change for the Rangers,» Friedman said.

If Zibanejad is the next to go, you have to think Chris Kreider and other major names are still on the Block for GM Chris Drury.
