Chris Drury officially confirms Jacob Trouba's future with the New York Rangers

As the New York Rangers faced a tough elimination during the Eastern Conference finals, a lot of blame has been placed on their captain, Jacob Trouba.

Many fans and social media members have been criticized Trouba's play style despite being the captain. As he's only had had one goal, six assists and seven points in 16 playoff games.

Trouba holds a $8 million cap hit and many believe the Rangers organization should trade or even buyout his contract after July 1st with only two years remaining in his contract.

However, Rangers general manager Chris Drury came to Trouba's defense and made it clear that he is a valuable member of the team.

«Jacob has been an excellent captain and leader for us,» Drury said. «Comes to play hard every single night It takes everyone to win. It's a team sport. We're going to keep trying to figure it out.»

Trouba has a massive responsibility of being the captain of the Rangers, and does a lot for them that goes unnoticed, so it's easy to say he should be traded considering he hasn't lived up to expectations but his impact goes far beyond his individual performance.
