Peter Laviolette Still Trying To Fix A Struggling Aspect Of Rangers
Despite the talent that has pushed the unit to the No. 1 overall ranking earlier this season, and despite his team's current five-game winning streak, Peter Laviolette knows the Rangers still need to sort out their suddenly ineffective power play, which is presently in an 0-for-17 rut with the man-advantage.
Peter Laviolette briefly tried shaking up the units with a more balanced approach, but by the time their third power play came along in the third period, he went back to the original power play unit of Adam Fox, Chris Kreider, Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck and Mika Zibanejad.
Peter Laviolette on going back to the usual unit:
"The guys that took us to (No. 1 in the NHL) are the ones that should be out there... Those players are the guys that should be on the ice to try and make the difference. They've had a ton of success... We've got to get them back on track."
Let's see if that changes anything tomorrow against the Montreal Canadiens.
