With news of the New York Rangers placing Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider on the trade block, NHL Insiders reported another Rangers player on the market.

That is $3.87 Million defenseman, K'Andre Miller whose contract is set to expire in 2025 at an RFA status.

He's due a raise that could be upwards of $6-$7 Million AAV, and with the cap crunch coming when GM Chris Drury has to sign Igor Shesterkin, someone could be moved.

That could be the Captain, Chris Kreider, and K'Andre Miller as the Rangers look to shake up the lineup, after a disappointing Western Road Trip.

«There are other names within that Ranger group that I hear are gaining some traction, as well,» Weekes said. «Specifically on the blue line specifically K'Andre Miller. Because he's at a very attractive number, his contract is expiring, as well.»

His contract value makes him easy to move, and could benefit from a fresh start elsewhere. He's only scored 4 points( 1 G, 3 A) in 20 games and hasn't produced up to expectations.

«A lot of teams I've spoken to look at that and say 'they have kind of a surplus of young D,'» Weekes said. «He's another name that I've heard drawing some interest.»

Miller is a capable two-way defenseman who can play a physical game, with great skating speed, and offensive upside.

The move would put the Rangers in a tough spot, but with the place they're in now, they need help.

«It's hard to find players like him,» Friedman said. «When you trade a guy like that, you're immediately looking for a guy like that.»

Could this be more of a wake-up call for the Rangers as a team, or will GM Chris Drury legitimately start moving talent soon?

Would you trade K'Andre Miller if the price is right?
