New York Rangers receive devastating news as veteran player is sidelined with upper-body injury

The New York Rangers have received some very troubling news regarding their veteran forward.

As the New York Rangers hit the ice for their morning skate on Monday morning, a noticeable player was not seen on the ice.

That young player being New York Rangers 33-year old veteran forward Chris Kreider.

This news was reported by several Rangers reporters this morning, all of them stating that Kreider is out with an upper-body injury and is listed day-to-day.

Kreider upper body, day-to-day, per NYR. Chytil taking part in skate. Rempe has been recalled.

News like this is never a good thing, as the Rangers desperately need all the help they can get on the ice and losing a valuable player like Kreider is never good.

Along with this troubling news, it was appears that rookie forward Brett Berard will be slotting in for Kreider after being recalled from the AHL on Sunday.

Rangers news: Chris Kreider is day to day with an upper-body injury. Matt Rempe was recalled this morning from Hartford. It appears Brett Berard will replace Kreider in the Rangers lineup and make his NHL debut tonight.

UPDATE: Brett Berard has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack. Victor Mancini and Chad Ruhwedel have been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.

So far this season, Kreider has played all 19 games so far, and has been a solid performer for the Rangers.

Within his first 19 games this season Kreider has managed to tally nine points, all nine points being goals.
