Peter Laviolette plays mind games while confirming Filip Chytil's status ahead of tonight's game
The New York Rangers will face off tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights in T-Mobile Arena. But we have an update on the lineup tonight, albeit confusing as is, thanks to Peter Laviolette.
The New York Rangers are set to face off against the best team on the West Coast, the Vegas Golden Knights.
Recently, they sent down Brett Berard to the AHL and called up Bo Groulx in order to shore up the lineup.
We also thought that Jonathan Quick would be netminding tonight, according to our earlier projected lineups.
However, the Rangers want to ice the best lineup against the 1st Overall team in the Pacific.
Instead of Bo Groulx starting tonight, Jimmy Vesey draws in, along with Igor Shesterkin who will be in the net in place of Jonathan Quick.
While it makes sense that Filip Chytil won't be playing tonight, as he hasn't been cleared to return to the ice.
So, the team the Rangers will ice tonight will feature starting goalie Igor Shesterkin as they take on Jack Eichel, and the Golden Knights.
The team is 20-18-2 and 1st in the Pacific Division under Head Coach Bruce Cassidy.
