Rangers Are Getting Creative With Shifting Lines During Practice
The Rangers held practice earlier today and it looks like Peter Laviolette is changing things up, including defensive pairs.
Firs, the lines are reverting back to a line we have seen somewhat recently, pushing Blake Wheeler back to the first line, and sending Kaapo Kakko back to the third.
Kreider - Zib - Wheeler
Panarin - Trocheck - Laf
Cuylle - Brodzinski - Kakko
Vesey - Goodrow - Pitlick
Here are the changes for the defensive pairing.
K'Andre Miller and Jacob Trouba remains the same.
But Adam Fox is now paired with Erik Gustafsson and Ryan Lindgren in with Braden Schneider
Peter Laviolette has been asked if he considered breaking up the Miller and Trouba pair, he replied with, "Not at this point."
They were on the ice for just 9 goals allowed through the first 23 games, but now 19 in last 22.
Peter Laviolette pointed to lapses in rush defense putting them in tough spots plus difficult matchups they draw.
The situation has gotten desperate, as the Rangers have been mediocre for the better part of half of the season, going 11-11-2 in their last 24 games.
Might as well change up some stuff now
