Rangers Comeback Falls Short, Escapes With A Point
The Rangers overcome a 3-0 deficit to tie the game 3-3 against the Montreal Canadiens, forcing overtime.
Only to lose in the shootout.
Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault, played incredibly to walk away with the win, stopping 46 of the Rangers 49 shots on goal, and stopping all three shots in the shootout.
The Rangers at least walk away with a point.
But the early hole they dug themselves in was inexcusable, and it doesn't get any easier against the high flying Vancouver Canucks up next.
Jonathan Quick played as well as he could with the failing defense in front of him, especially stopping two of the three shots in the shootout.
Rangers drop to 26-10-2 for the season.
