Rangers Discussed As A Possible Destination For This Player
Even though they currently sit in first place in the Metro Division, the Rangers need help on the wing.
They are linked to San Jose Sharks Winger and former Ranger, Anthony Duclair.
After being a healthy scratch in the 6-2 loss against the Colorado Sharks last night, rumors have begun to swirl about Duclair and his possible destinations.
Along with the Rangers, the Boston Bruins and the Edmonton Oilers have also been linked to Duclair.
Duclair is a pending unrestricted free agent with a $3 million cap hit.
According to CapFriendly, the Rangers are projected to have $6.5 million in cap space, which is more than enough to get him, but that's due to Kaapo Kakko and Filip Chytil placed on long term injured reserved.
Once they return, that cap space will almost completely evaporate.
Chris Drury would need to work some magic to make a move like this. Duclair has shown that he can be an effective scorer.
In the 2021-22 season, he scored 31 goals for the Florida Panthers. He is a speedy winger who could help a team come playoff time. Only time will tell.
