Rangers forward Jimmy Vesey set to make his 2024-25 season debut after returning from LTIR

New York Rangers forward is expected to make his 2024-25 season debut this afternoon as the Rangers face off again the New York Islanders.

31-year old forward Jimmy Vesey has been activated from long-term injured reserve(LTIR) as the New York Rangers passed the 10-game mark.

The veteran forward has been in full participant at the New York Rangers practices for a while now and even participated in some rushes with Sam Carrick and Adam Edstrom on the fourth line.

Complete new lines:

Panarin - Zib - Laf
Cuylle- Trocheck - Smith
Kreider - Chytil - Kakko
Edström - Carrick - Vesey

During the Rangers training camp, Jimmy Vesey sustained an injury, and was visibly in pain as he quickly limped off the ice and returned to the locker room.

The most recent indication that Vesey will be returning this afternoon is that the Rangers sent 22-year old forward Matt Rempe down to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, indicating that Vesey will be back in the lineup.

Just last season, the veteran forward managed to tally 13 goals, 13 assists for a total of 26 points in 80 games while averaging 12:23 minutes a game.
