Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette and several players have addressed the Jacob Trouba situation
New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette and several players have expressed their opinion on Jacob Trouba's situation.
As many already know, earlier this morning the New York Rangers revealed that their captain Jacob Trouba will on the move today.
The Rangers have decided to sidelined Trouba today for Roster Management, as he will either be placed on waivers or traded this afternoon.
BREAKING. First shoe/skate is dropping. Post has learned that Jacob Trouba will not be on the ice today for purposes of roster management. Will not play tonight. Expect Victor Mancini to be recslled.
Since then reports have surfaced regarding where the captain will end up as four teams emerge as frontrunners to acquire him.
Among the teams I've heard have talked to the NYR about Jacob Trouba include Detroit, Ottawa, Buffalo, Columbus.
We'll see what happens today, but Trouba has known for some time this was a strong possibility. Crazy to see it go down this way.
Following this, the New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette and several teammates have sounded off on the situation, here's what they had to say:
Lavi: "It's not meant to be a message. I think everyone has an understanding of how we've played the last month... We can't continue down this road."
Peter Laviolette on Jacob Trouba:
"He's a good person, and a good player, and a good leader. But... today, when it comes to addressing this effort, taking time coming out of that game (against the Devils) and thinking about it, this is the decision that I made.''

Here's what Trouba's teammates had to say about Jacob Trouba and the situation:
Chris Kreider wasn't ready to get into the Trouba stuff. He's trying to block out distractions, as difficult as that may be given everything going on inside the org.
«Yeah, but not today,» he said when asked if he has a reaction. «We've got to focus on winning a hockey game.» As for dealing with distractions, Quick said there are only distractions if you let them be distractions.
«(The media's) job is to turn them into distractions. Our job is to go and play hockey.»
Mika Zibanejad on Trouba: «That's a decision between the team and him, from what I'm understanding. As a player, as a teammate, as a friend and human being, we love him to death.» Definitely a lot of emotions surrounding the New York Rangers but they must focus on tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins which will start 7:30PM
