According to recent reports from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers are ready to shake up their roster and make some drastic changes.

Earlier on Monday morning, Elliotte Friedman stated that forward Chris Kreider and defenseman Jacob Trouba are the two players the Rangers are willing to hear offers for:

In the aftermath of their 6-2 loss in Edmonton on Saturday, the Rangers have made it very clear they are interested in making moves and shaking up their roster.

Among the names indicated are Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba, although other options will be considered.

As stated by Freidman, this comes after an embarrassing 6-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.

Clearly opening the eyes of the upper management that things need to change before it's too late.

The 33-year old forward has appeared in the first 19 games this season with the Rangers, and has managed to only score nine goals but only one goal in the last six games.

Along with that the 2009 first-round pick also carries a $6.5 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-27 season, but of course he has trade protection as he has a 15-team no-trade clause.

As for the Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, who has been on the trade block for a while now. As the Rangers looked to move him throughout the offseason, but a deal never finalized.

Leaving the 30-year old available for a trade once again, and will more than likely generate some interest and offers from teams looking to strengthen their defensive depth.

Trouba who has also appeared in the first 19 games this season with the Rangers, has only six assists. But similar to Kreider, Trouba is under contract until the end of 2025-26 season and has a 15-team no-trade list.

Truly a wake up call to the New York Rangers as the indicates that things are changing and «no one should feel complacent».
