Rangers star player sounds off when asked about serious injury
The NHL playoffs always feature injuries, which is an issue for some players throughout multiple series.
The Rangers' #1 defenseman Adam Fox, was on the receiving end of a brutal hit in round 1 of the NHL playoffs against the Washington Capitals.
He would take some maintenance days off, but would return and play last night against the Florida Panthers.
This would cause many in the media to believe, Fox was injured as a result of the hit but dismissed questions about it.
«Good, ya,» Fox said on how he is feeling. «Ready to go for tomorrow.»
Fox was available last night against the Panthers, playing 24:56 TOI, with a plus/minus of -2 in a deflating 3-0 loss.
This was slightly above his 23:25 minutes TOI throughout the playoffs, leading the Rangers with a heavy burden of responsibility.
If the Rangers are to be successful, they need a healthy Adam Fox and according to WFAN SPORTS RADIO 101.9 FM/66AM NEW YORK's radio personalities Boomer & Gio, Adam Fox didn't look like himself.
«It's obvious that Adam Fox is not right,» Boomer said. «You could see it when he was trying to stride to the puck last night. He's dealing with something.
«He's not the same playerthere's something wrong with Adam Fox. He's just not moving the same way.»
Fox shrugged off injury concerns when he was asked about it prior to game one, though he has taken some maintenance days since taking a hit in the first round against Washington, and Boomer believes that's indeed when the injury happened.
«I think he got hurt in the Capitals series. He had a knee on knee in the Capitals series,» Boomer said. «To me, that looks to be the situation with him. If you've ever played with knee pain or any sort of knee soreness, I can tell you that's not fun.»
