Major development has surfaced regarding former Rangers controversial defenseman Tony DeAngelo as he will officially return to the NHL after signing with Metropolitan Division team.
Recently some unfortunate news emerged from the KHL team SKA St. Petersburg as they announced that they have terminated former New York Rangers defenseman's contract.
That former New York Rangers' defender being Tony DeAngelo, who had his contract terminated in the KHL due to a mutual decision, despite having a solid season with the team while putting up 6 goals and 32 points in 36 games.
Tony DeAngelo is leaving SKA.
The defenseman's contract will be mutually terminated, with Tony needing to return to North America due to family reasons.

However, now just ten days after that announcement, the New York Islanders have just announced they have signed Tony DeAngelo to a one-year contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

He has signed with the Islanders for the rest of the year.
DeAngelo has been a solid player in the NHL despite his attitude, as he has played 371 NHL games and managed to tally 48 goals and 162 for a total of 210 points.
DeAngelo will now get the chance to add onto his record and truly prove he deserves to be in the NHL after GM Lou Lamoriello took a very big chance on the defenseman.
