Convicted felon and former New Jersey Devils forward returns to professional hockey

Major controversy has sparked amongst the hockey community as former NHL player returns to professional hockey.

Ben Johnson who is convicted criminal has signed a one-year contract with HK Dukla Michalovce in Slovakia.
Johnson who is now 30-years old, was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. However he never reached his full potential during his NHL career as his off-ice actions led to him having his contract terminated.
Johnson was convicted of two serious incidents during his time with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires. Both of these offenses occurred in the washrooms of different bars, just weeks apart, leading to significant legal consequences.
Both instances being nearly identical, as Johnson coerced two females into certain acts against their free will, the first woman was 20-years old, and the second woman was underage, along with being under the influence of alcohol when these crimes were committed.

However, despite his criminal history, Johnson somehow managed to secure a spot in professional hockey with HK Dukla Michalovce. This situation has undoubtedly caused some controversy as many want to know why a players with this type of criminal record is receiving another chance at playing hockey.
Fans continue to express their disappointment, and call for Johnson to be banned from the sport of hockey altogether.
