Peter Laviolette of the New York Rangers and Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes come face to face in a battle for the Stanley Cup.
After winning the Stanley Cup together back in 2006, the two coaches find themselves battling for round three of the Stanley Cup Finals as their teams play against each other. The relationship between these two coaches both professional and personal is amicable and the bond they build over 18 years remains intact today. This goes to show that being fortunate to have a great coach in the league is a blessing. Since 2006, neither coach has won a Stanley Cup but both are great coaches and have definitely helped their teams reach new levels.
As adversaries now, the coaching battle for the Stanley cup begins. One thing we can be certain to get from the next match up against the New York Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes is great sportsmanship. Both coaches have made it clear that good sportsmanship is important and has been integrated into their coaching style. It is sure to be a great game to watch for both New York Rangers fans and Carolina Hurricanes fans.
While many fans seem to think the New York Rangers will take the win in this matchup, I think it will be a close call. Both teams have different areas of strengths and weaknesses and both teams are under a lot of pressure to perform well enough to advance. I think it will be up to fate to decide. Who has your vote?
