Eric Jackson of Sportico reported that Madison Square Garden has posted record revenue which topped $1 billion during the Rangers and Knicks playoff runs.

It's every owner's dream to see both franchises having successful seasons and then going on a long playoff run which both the Knicks and the Rangers have done. Both teams had championship pedigree and many people in their respective leagues especially the Rangers felt that they had a chance to win the Stanley Cup.
«MSGS reported $227 million in revenue during the 2024 fiscal fourth quarter ending June 30-up $100 million compared to the same period last year-as the Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals and the Rangers reached the Eastern Conference Final,» Eric Jackson of Sportico wrote.
It's been many years since both teams have made it to their respective Eastern Conference finals as in 2013 was the last time. The Rangers also had a fantastic season with 55 wins which put them in record territory.
«This season was the first since 2013 that saw both MSG teams reach at least the second round of the playoffs in the same year. The combination of seven additional playoff games and four more regular season games compared to last year's fourth quarter helped MSGS close out a strong fiscal year where total revenue topped a record $1 billion, a 16% jump ($139 million) from the 2023 fiscal year.»
Madison Square Garden was buzzing the entire time and as the Rangers went down the stretch, they grew stronger, and the fan base grew stronger.
It's safe to say with both teams still built for a playoff run and championship run, it's likely ownership will see even better returns this year.
