Last night's game between the Rangers and the Devils has been the talk of the Internet for the last 24 hours.

The discussion continued on the Kyper and Bourne show where former NHLer and guest Mike Rupp explained why last night's game was great for the Rangers playoff hopes.

The Rangers over the last several weeks have been coming together as a team naturally as the team solidifies its playoff spot and as the leader in the metro division.

Last night's altercation settled many issues that were between the two teams this season and it also showed rookie Matt Rempe that his team is willing to answer the call and defend him while he settled his score.

Mike Rupp, who was never shy to drop his gloves during his time in the NHL had played for both the Rangers and the Devils during his career.

He was drafted in 2000 by the devils, in the third round, 76th overall.

While spending the bulk of his career with the Devils, he did play for the Rangers for two years between 2011 and 2013.

During his 610 games with the league, he scored 54 goals with 45 assists for 99 points and had 855 penalty minutes.

The Rangers are looking for any angle they can to solidify themselves while giving the Eastern Conference let alone that league an understanding that they will be there to try to win the Cup.

A game like last night will absolutely help their cause.
