GM Chris Drury and the New York Rangers have sent another forward to the Hartford Wolfpack.

The Rangers cut the training camp roster by another player, as they have put Benoit "Bo" Groulx on waivers as reported by Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Groulx recently signed a one-year, two-way deal with the New York Rangers, and was unable to make the opening night roster for the team and will instead have to settle for an AHL roster spot.
Groulx played 45 games for the Anaheim Ducks in 2023-2024, was only scored 2 points.
On July 1st, 2024 he wasn't given a qualifying offer by the Anaheim Ducks, which led to the Rangers signing him as an obvious depth option in the AHL.
The Ducks did not qualify Groulx and he will become an unrestricted free agent Monday, Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports.

Groulx was limited to just two points in 45 games last season. The 24-year-old will likely be looking for an AHL or two-way deal this offseason.

Benoit-Olivier Groulx: Not qualified by Ducks
His current contract with the Rangers is a league minimum deal, at $775K AAV, which is a small decline from the $822K contract he enjoyed the last three-years in Anaheim.
Is a clear-cut, 200-foot center who is responsible and efficient in all three zones of the ice. Also brings a physical edge to the rink every game. Owns great pedigree as the son of longtime coach Benoit Groulx. Will need to add more bulk and get physically stronger because his style of play demands constant contact and being in high-traffic areas. Must prove himself as a top-six forward in the professional ranks.

It's obvious, that Bo hasn't evolved into the player Anaheim envisioned him to be, so maybe a fresh start in Hartford could help develop him into the 200-FT forward the Rangers could use in the future.
In the meantime, he'll find plenty of playing time in the AHL.
