It's been a tough few weeks for New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe as he was sent down to Hartford to seek more ice time which in turn was a disastrous two games which led him to be recalled back to New York.

It's clear that he had a rough few outings with the Wolf pack as his first game in the AHL he was badly outplayed and was on the ice for two goals. During his two-game stay, he accumulated no points only had two shots and was a - 3.

His second season with the Rangers has not gone according to plan after he stormed into the NHL spotlight during the second half of last season as he gained the trust, and the fans love with his energy and his all-documented fights with several NHL heavyweights. After a few weeks though, it was stated by many NHL pundits that his fights needed to end as he was losing them every game and risking injury to his head.

Throughout the summer he promised that he would work on his game in a variety of ways including learning to create a style of fighting from former NHL enforcer Georges Laraque, living with Rangers goaltender Jonathan quick in Connecticut and practicing and training with Rangers star Chris Kreider.

It seems those actions have not transformed into ice time as he is only played two games this season with no points and playing a miniscule 5 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time on average.

It remains to be seen on how the Rangers will handle this player and whether they will keep him in the press box or find a way to get him back into game shape for the Rangers or the Wolf Pack as this young forward needs more time to get looks and play as much as possible.
