Mollie Walker an NHL Insider for the New York Post would ask Laviolette about his decision-making ahead of the Washington Capitals game.
This kind of logic makes sense, but the Florida Panthers are one of the heavier teams in the NHL. If he wants to ice the best lineup, why did he utilize Adam Edstrom who delivered goose-eggs against the Cats instead of Rempe who isn't afraid of players like Matthew Tkachuk, a rat, or Sam Bennett a known-dirty player?
Again, Rempe only saw two games of development which is great since he saw more ice-time in the AHL. But did he develop into the player the Rangers claim they need in two games? That's doubtful.
If you look through the game notes on the Hartford Wolfpack, it is saddening, as Rempe didn't find his way into the game or storyline(s) in two games of AHL action he saw.
Which doesn't square with what Coach Peter Laviolette said, and don't get me wrong it's his lineup to formulate.
But the math isn't working out here.
Is this more or less a way for Rangers' to pacify the legacy media and fans in Madison Square Garden, or do they just need some muscle to help pacify Tom Wilson and Dylan McIlrath?
