Rangers Jimmy Vesey ready to return to the lineup tomorrow?
The New York Rangers have received some good news, as veteran winger Jimmy Vesey has shown up to practice in a full-contact jersey.
This gives us an idea of what the projected lineup for tomorrow against the Washington Capitals will look like.
The team has had to use substitutes for the gritty, two-way winger's absence in the meantime. Matt Rempe, Adam Edstrom, and Jonny Brodzinski were placeholders during his time away.
The Rangers recently had to call up Matt Rempe, and according to Daily Face Off, he'll be RW4, and Adam Edstrom is still LW4 according to the site.
So, will Vesey be cleared to return for tomorrow's game? Hopefully.
Jimmy Vesey was back on the ice with is New York Rangers teammates at their morning skate ahead of a game against the Florida Panthers on Thursday. Though he's skated on his own recently, this is the first time Vesey was out there with the rest of the team since he sustained a lower-body injury during the preseason.
Last Thursday he was seen on ice skating on his own for the first time since training camp.
So what can we expect?
«It's just a part of the progression,» Peter Laviolette said Thursday. «The next step in his long road back, so it was good to have him out there. He looks good.»
The former Hobey Baker Award winner played 80 games for the New York Rangers last season, scoring 26 points( 13 G, 13 A) as a depth scoring option for the contending team.
Maybe we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves with this one, but there's hope that he can find his way back into the lineup soon.
More as the story develops!
