Head coach Peter Laviolette takes issue with the New York Rangers and calls out the team once again following their game against the Nashville Predators, a team who is currently in 32nd place.

Tuesday night, the New York Rangers faced off against the the worst team in the National Hockey League, the Nashville Predators and to no surprise they continued to struggle to build momentum which lead to them losing 2-0.

The Rangers are currently now sitting at a record of 15-15-1, not the worst standing in the league but definitely not a great standing considering the Rangers were President Trophy winners just last season with a record of 55-23-4.

However, the Rangers player slightly better tonight, but clearly not well enough which resulted in head coach Peter Laviolette issuing a statement to the press and essentially calling out his team's efforts in the third period.

Here's what Laviolette had to say, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post:

Head coach Peter Laviolette took issue with the #NYR's third period:

«What I didn't like was the third period. We came out, I thought that they had the edge on us. They probably 2-1ed us in chances We needed more in the third when you're down 1-0, that's when you have to find our way out of something and that's where we're not getting it done right now.»

While he's not wrong, some of his players have a different opinion on how the night went as they believe they put up a good battle, first off was defenseman Ryan Lindgren:

Ryan Lindgren: «It shouldn't be hard to keep our focus right now. We should be driven to get out of this. We should be doing whatever it takes every single game to get out of this. Battling like hell to get out of it. You saw that tonight, I thought we battled, but it's just not going our way right now. It's our job to just keep getting back to work and doing what we can.»

Hard to agree with him on that considering they gave the worst team in the league a 2-0 shutout. Another comment came in from an unusual player, Braden Schneider:

Braden Schneider: "It's all mental at this point. We want to do the right things, and we're working do the right things. We're just a hair off − just a little off the mark. I know everyone in here believes and everyone's working for the right thing. We've just got to keep pushing through, and hopefully we can break through the ceiling."

Definitely nice to see the team showing some optimism and positivity, hopefully they can turn that into something and 'break through the ceiling'.

In the meantime the Rangers will continue their road trip to Dallas as they will face the Stars on Friday night at 8:00PM, and we will wait to see if there is any changes made.
