Rangers bring eliminated falls back on generational curse sparked by Blackhawks
The York Rangers fell short against the Florida Panthers on Saturday and with that they have prolonged the Presidents Cup curse that was started in 2013 by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Every team that has won the Presidents trophy from 2014 to 2024 has not been has not been successful enough to make it through the Conference finals. The last time it has happened was when the Blackhawks won and advanced to the Stanley Cup Final in 2013.
The New York Rangers and all their fans had high hopes that this would be the year history repeats it's self and they would bring the Stanley Cup home after 30-years, but unfortunately the Florida Panthers outplayed the Rangers and put an end to everyone's hopes.
The Florida Panthers also became a victim of the curse back in to 2022 when they had an outstanding 58-16-6 record in the regular season, but ended up being swept by the Tampa Bay Lightning during the second round.
