Filip Chytil has been on the unfortunate side of the injury bug this season. After being out the majority of last season due to a concussion he has once again found himself out of the lineup, and was asked about his perspective on his future with Mollie Walker.

Filip Chytil has been part of the New York Rangers' best line at the beginning of the season, with Will Cuylle, and Kaapo Kakko.

With Kakko gone, and only Cuylle remaining Chytil has had to keep performing up to expectations. Yet after all the gains he made this season, a collision with K'Andre Miller put him out of the lineup again.

And now, Chytil has been out of the lineup since January 7th, and fortunately for the team he was able to practice today.

Though not willing to disclose the exact nature of this injury, Chytil did confirm that it was not a setback related to his history with concussions.

«No concussion issues,» Chytil said. «It's more complicated than that.»

Now, with a second setback for Chytil, he'll need to consider the possibility of what lies ahead for him. For now, he seeks to gain the ground he lost.

It's been difficult for the center who saw the games on the sideline last season as he didn't slot in till the beginning of the Rangers' playoff run. He was a victim of circumstances beyond his control, and the lack of his ability to affect things for the team took a toll no doubt.

«It's hard. It's hard because you want to be out there every game,» Chytil mentioned. «It's very frustrating to watch my team play games. I learned so much last year, I went through a lot last year, which helps me mentally. Right now, this hurdle happens, I'm just stronger in my head.»

Chytil could return to the lineup tomorrow, and center Chris Kreider and Arthur Kaliyev on the new-look Rangers third line.

Kreider is third on the Rangers with 13 goals and ninth with 15 points.

This season in 33 games with the Rangers he's scored 17 points ( 10 G, 7 A ) and could find himself back to being one of the team's top contributors if he's healthy.
