We as Rangers fans have been spoiled with legendary goaltenders for many years.

If you want to go with Stanley Cup champion Mike Richter, or Vezina Trophy winners Henrik Lundqvist, or Igor Shesterkin, we have been blessed.

For 20 years, goaltending has become the primary identity to the Rangers organization, and that is because of Benoit Allaire, who has worked tremendously with Shesterkin and Lundqvist during his time with the team.

Now he has Jonathan Quick to work with, and it's no coincidence Quick is experiencing a career revival in his first season under Allaire.

Check what Quick had to say about the longtime Rangers coach:

"A lot of goalies approach it a little bit differently, but at the end of the day, you're just trying to stop the puck. What Benny's done for me is just kind of help simplify the game and not overthink situations. Just kind of use your natural ability to stop that puck."

In nine total appearances, he's gone 7-0-1 with two shutouts, a .918 SV%, 2.34 goals against average and 0.912 goals saved above expected per 60 minutes, which ranks third among goalies who have appeared in at least five games, according to moneypuck.com.

Clearly a huge thanks goes to Allaire.

Henrik Lundqvist said at the Hockey Hall Of Fame Q&A that he thinks Allaire should be in the Hall Of Fame for his achievements.

I don't think anyone of us will argue that.
