Rangers Head Coach Addresses Injured Player And Brodzinski
The Rangers are gearing up for their next game against the Ottawa Senators, looking to win their fourth straight game.
Head coach Peter Laviolette address the media prior after the Rangers practice this morning about the status of Filip Chytil, who has been out due to a head injury since November 2nd.
No real update on Filip Chytil, who Peter Laviolette says is still progressing and skating.
Kaapo Kakko has not resumed skating yet.
As for keeping Jonny Brodzinski on the first line:
"I think at times when you recall somebody, you automatically think that they'll take the 12th spot in the lineup and his game had been much more than that. Certainly down in the American Hockey League where he was the leading scorer, playing with speed, captain leadership. It was a chance to see what that looked like with Mika & Chris. I thought he played a really good game. They were productive. He's got 4 points in 4 games, so we're not going to switch that right now."
Laviolette makes a great point, Brodzinski has been playing very well on the top line, better than Kakko and Blake Wheeler ever did.
No need to change what is working right now.
The Rangers will be playing tonight at the Canadian Tire Centre, in Ottawa.
